Recipe: How to Register to Vote in Maryland
Register online through Maryland's OLVR system if you have a Maryland driver's license or MVA ID. No ID number? You can still register by signing an affirmation that you don't have one. The deadline is 21 days before Election Day; after that, you can still register in person at any early voting center.

Directions
Go to Maryland's Online Voter Registration System (OLVR).
Confirm you're eligible. What Type of Voter Are You? U.S. citizen, Maryland resident, at least 16 years old. You can't register if you've been convicted of buying/selling votes, found unable to communicate voting intent under a guardianship, or are currently imprisoned for a felony.
Fill in your details — name, address, date of birth, and party affiliation (optional; you can register unaffiliated).
Enter your ID info. MVA driver's license/ID number, or the last 4 digits of your SSN, or sign the affirmation if you have neither.
Submit before the deadline — 21 days before Election Day.
Missed the deadline? Register in person at any early voting center or your Election Day polling place. Bring proof of residency: your MVA license/ID, a change-of-address card, or a recent paycheck, bank statement, or utility bill with your current name and address.
Confirm your registration through the same OLVR portal a few days after submitting.

Changing your party affiliation has the same 21-day deadline — handle both at once if you're planning to vote in a primary.
No computer or smartphone? Paper forms are available at MVA offices, public libraries, and early polling locations.
Moved recently? Re-register with your new address — don't assume an old registration carries over.
