About

This site serves as a public experiment exploring how representation could improve if elected officials dedicated more time to engaging with their constituents, listening attentively, and making transparent decisions, considering accountability a fundamental governance obligation rather than merely a campaign tactic.

Modern politics often emphasizes rapid opinions, continuous fundraising, and performative alignment. I am interested in observing what changes when these habits are set aside in favor of attentive listening, clear explanations, and openness about decision-making processes. There is no fundraising, no endorsing for access, and no attempts to persuade here. Instead, this platform provides a public record of residents' inputs, my interpretations, decision-making processes, and where this approach might fall short. If effective, this model should withstand disagreements.

Begin with the Method section, which explains how the listening sessions work. Then, review summaries of residents’ insights and see how their perspectives evolve over time.

My background is primarily in public-facing, mission-driven organizations where trust, transparency, and constraints guide daily decisions. In nonprofit and civic leadership roles, I’ve managed operations, finance, education, facilities, and public engagement. A primary focus has been creating platforms that elevate diverse viewpoints, particularly those often underrepresented or excluded, ensuring they are taken seriously and influence decisions visibly.

Earlier in my career, I worked in education and community programs linked to schools and cultural organizations. Throughout, I balanced ideals with practical steps, designing processes that lower participation barriers and allow ideas to be judged on their merits, not their origins.

Outside work, I am active in Maryland's civic life, serving on a community civic association and as a reserve officer. These roles keep my understanding of public service grounded in daily responsibilities rather than just theory. I am unaffiliated with any political party and do not seek or accept donations.
